How Can You Use Our Icons?
This page explains the licenses available on Flat-Icons.com (Basic and Commercial) and helps you choose the right one. For easier understanding, we’ve compared the license plans in the table below. Scroll down to read the full license terms.

Quick Note: Basic and Commercial license plans currently apply to our Lifetime Icon Bundle only. All other products on our website (icon sets, illustrations, and animated icons) are sold with a Commercial license only and, as such, adhere to the Commercial license terms.
Full License Terms
This is a legal agreement between you, the purchaser, and Flat-Icons.com. By purchasing or downloading our icon sets you agree to the following:
All the icons remain the property of Flat-icons.com. You will receive digital icon files and a royalty-free license to use those files within your own personal and commercial projects.
Overview of the Basic License
You’re allowed to:
- Use the royalty-free icons for personal projects where the end product is NOT for sale (your own website, presentations, and other projects you don’t sell or receive direct financial gain from)
- Use the icons for an unlimited number of personal projects according to these license terms, for personal projects only
- Modify the icons in shape, color, size, and/or file format and use the modified icons according to these license terms, for personal projects only
- Make one copy of the product(s) solely for backup, archival purposes or transfer the product(s) to a single hard drive – provided that you keep the original and accompanying documentation in your possession
- 1 user is allowed to access and use the icons
You’re not allowed to:
- Use the icons for commercial projects (end product for sale – services, apps, paid ads, etc.)
- Resell, sublicense, rent, transfer or otherwise make available for use or detached from a product, software application or web page without the express written permission from Flat-Icons.com
- Making modifications or alterations to any of our icons or other materials does not allow you to then sell or license them
- Do anything not expressly permitted under the paragraph headed “You’re allowed to…” above

Overview of the Commercial License
You’re allowed to:
- Use the royalty-free icons for personal and commercial projects (end product for sale) including web design, software, application, advertising, film, video, computer game, GUI design, illustration, logos, for you or your clients, without having to pay additional licensing fees
- Use the icons for an unlimited number of projects (for your own or your customers’ projects)
- Use the icons in your application(s), even in a wireframing or design application(s)
- Enter projects into contests, film festivals, publications, and/or exhibitions that use our products in the permitted listed methods
- Modify the icons in shape, color, size, and/or file format and use the modified icons according to these license terms for any personal or commercial project
- Make one copy of the product(s) solely for backup, archival purposes or transfer the product(s) to a single hard drive – provided that you keep the original and accompanying documentation in your possession
- Up to 3 users are allowed to use the icons within your organization or company (For teams of 3+, you can buy multiple licenses. If you need access for your entire company, please contact us to get a quote)
You’re not allowed to:
- Resell, sublicense, rent, transfer or otherwise make available for use or detached from a product, software application or web page without the express written permission from Flat-Icons.com
- Making modifications or alterations to any of our icons or other materials does not allow you to then sell or license them
- Do anything not expressly permitted under the paragraph headed “You’re allowed to…” above

Fair use of our icons/products
You cannot use our icons/products in a way that competes with us.
You cannot use our icons as the main value of a product for resale, license or other distribution. For example, you cannot use our icons to sell patterns, T-shirts, backgrounds where our icons bring the main value and you just reproduce our icons. If you want to use our icons as the main value in a product that you resell or distribute, please contact us. We will get back to you within 24 hours.
Refund Policy
Once sold, no refund will be offered for the product(s) as our flat icon sets are digital files. However, files can be replaced if damaged or lost. Simply send us a message with your transaction ID.
Reserved Rights
We reserve rights to change the price of our products without prior notice and at our sole discretion. We reserve the rights to make changes to this ‘License Agreement’ without any prior notice at our sole discretion.
